In honor of Valentine's Day this week, I wanted to share a little project I did that I'm sure lots of people have seen on Pinterest. It's simple - You just list "52 Things I Love about You" on a Deck of cards (One thing on each card), and give it to your sweetie for a gift. I thought it was the cutest idea, so last Christmas, I decided to make one for Trent as a stocking stuffer. It was really fun to make, but a lot harder than you might think to think of 52 things. At least, for me it was! Haha. But it's a nice, cute way to say I love you, and it's fun to make too, because you get to be creative and think of all the things you love about the person. Oh, and it was FREE for me, since I already had all the materials I needed on hand.
I got the idea from Pinterest of course, so here are a couple that I looked at for ideas before I made mine:
And Here's the one I made Trent:
How I made it:
1.) I listed 52 things I love about Trent on a piece of paper.
2.) I found an old deck of cards (Casinos give away old ones at various events all the time for free, so I had a few decks lying around that weren't being used.)
3.) I cut out a bunch of rectangles from ordinary computer paper that were approximately the same size and would fit in the middle of a playing card.
4.) Alternating red and black markers, I wrote each thing I loved on a little white rectangle of paper.
5.) I used a glue stick to glue each of the pieces of paper onto each card.
6.) Once I had all the cards complete, I used a hole punch to punch holes in the upper left corner of each card, lining them up as I went.
7.) I found a little chain with a clasp, which I used to attach them all together, and finished it off with a red ribbon bow!
Along with some general things that could relate to anybody, I tried to think of specific things I love about him and that relate to specifically us, some silly, some sweet.
I think Trent really liked it. Here he is getting his gift....
And reading the 52 things.....
