Quiz: What Kind of House Should You Live In?

The other day, Trent found this Playbuzz quiz via Facebook: "What kind of house should you live in?" I'm sure it is super technical and scientific. :)

But we both took it to see what our results would be.

Well, we each got different results, but they weren't really that surprising for either one of us. Quite accurate, actually! Trent's result was Beach House. That is completely accurate for him. He loves the beach and the ocean, and if he could live anywhere, it would probably be somewhere like The Outer Banks...some island where we are surrounded by the beach and the ocean, and the weather is beautiful almost all year round.

I guess I'm a little more traditional when it comes to the house that I've always dreamed of. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach and the ocean too, and it is the perfect vacation spot for me, but a Beach House to me would be more like a vacation home. So it's no surprise that my result was a House in the Suburbs.

What can I say, the American Dream sounds pretty nice to me. :) And I've always wanted a nice, new home. I guess I will settle right now for an old house that needs a lot of work, and a lot of love, in a small town. It's not the end of the world! Maybe one day we will live in a house in the suburbs and own a nice little vacation home by the beach. We're still young, and one can dream, right...

What Holiday Destination Are You?

Well, I wish I could say I'm giving away a vacation....I'm not. But, I will send you over to take a quiz that tells you which destination you should travel to. 

The folks at Wydham Worldwide have put together this lovely little quiz. Wyndham's Women On Their Way is featuring the top holiday destinations for women, and they've created a quiz that will tell you which destination is the best for you. Is it Paris? Washington, DC? Maybe San Antonio?

I took the quiz myself. My result? Portland.

Which is funny because I was actually just in the Portland area for a work conference a couple of months ago. And it was beautiful. I wish I could have seen more, and I would love to go back!

I'll let you in on a little secret though - I purposely took the quiz again and picked answers just so I could get San Antonio for my result.

Color Personality Quiz

Hello everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. Is it really July?! Today I'm sharing a quiz that I stumbled upon the other day...the "Color Personality Quiz" from Better Homes and Gardens. 

Basically you answer some multiple choice questions and at the end, (you have to put in your email to get your results and sign into the website) it gives you the color that best suits your personality and decorating style, with some inspiring ideas and paint colors to use.

My result was Sea Glass.

This result was pretty much spot on for me, considering the one paint color I've chosen for wall colors in our house that isn't neutral (tan or gray), was a light green color in the kitchen.

HomeGoods Style Quiz

Happy Cinco de Mayo! We went out last night, and I may have had one too many margaritas...Haha. Fun times! But anyway, I'm just popping in on this gorgeous Sunday to share this HomeGoods Stylescope Quiz I stumbled upon the other day:

I think I had taken it once before (YHL may have blogged about it a while ago, if I remember correctly). But I really think it's one of the most fun ones I've found, and it was actually pretty accurate for me. If you're struggling on where to start with decorating, it may really help to see what your personal style is, and use what you like to decorate your home.

All you do is choose the 5 images that you like best, and it will give you your "home design style," along with design tips, and even Pinterest boards dedicated to each style result. Have you taken it yet? If not, you can take it right here.

I got "Classic and a touch Boho":

At first, I was like...um, classic maybe. But Boho? What is that? And then I saw the HomeGoods Pinterest board for Boho, and I definitely could see why I got that result! I always kind of described my style as a mix of traditional and contemporary, but now I would definitely say it's a mix of Classic and Boho/trendy. I've even pinned some of the same rooms, because I love neutral staples mixed with eclectic items and pops of color, like in these examples below:

I feel like our living room fits that description too...

It's not where I'd like it to end up yet, but the formula is still the same. I like to keep the major pieces in the room more neutral and classic - tan walls, white curtains, brown couch, dark wood furniture, tan rug, and tan side chairs. And then mix in colorful and more trendy accessories, like pillows, vases, picture frames, and art. Even ceramic animal figurines, like my newest edition, Ellie the Elephant. :)

(If that's not Boho, I don't know what is, haha.)

So you should definitely check out that quiz here and see if your result matches your style. It might just help you in your decorating journey!
