Living Room Wall Clock

Hey guys! I bought a few new things for the house online this past week. One of them was a new wall clock for the living room. Our old one had been broken for a while now. No matter how many times I changed the batteries, it always seemed to get "off." So I did a lot of looking online, and a little in the stores, too. In the end, I decided on this one from Target:

I like the distressed wood look that it has, and it was on sale for $35.99 from $40. It's pretty big - 24 inches. Our old clock was 18 inches, but the space is big enough to fit a larger clock, so we decided to try it.

It just came in the mail this week, and we hung it up today! Since it's bigger and heavier than the old one, we had to hang it a little higher and use a reinforcer with the screw.

I'm really digging it!

Here's the old one for comparison:

The new one is a bit trendier, and I feel like since it's larger, it makes more of a statement.

Definitely liking the new look. Happy Saturday, everyone!

Target Spring 2017 Decor

Have you all been to Target lately? I've been too busy with weddings and clothes shopping (in IA City this past weekend), as well as planning for vacations this summer. But I know I'll need to make it into Tar-jay this April for the new Victoria Beckham clothing line coming out on April 9! Who's with me?

In the mean time, there's always online "window shopping" for a good Target decor fix. I decided to check it out and see what decor they have out this spring.

Here's a roundup of some of my favorite online finds. (Links for all at the bottom) What do you think? Some fun items this spring, I'd say!

Virtual Target Shopping

Hey guys! I don't know about you, but every time I step into Target, I have to brace myself, because I know I won't be able to resist spending a ton of money on things I don't really need! From clothes to jewelry to home decor, I can never seem to resist the lure that is Tar-jay.

So today, just for fun, I thought I'd do a little virtual Target shopping. No money spent. Just looking online at target.com for some cute stuff! It's kind of like a wish list of things I'd totally buy if I was at the store. Sound fun? K, let's start!

I've divided my picks into 4 different categories - these are all things I can't resist when I go to Target: Accessories, Clothes, Shoes, and Home Decor.

First up...the Accessories! Here are a couple of scarves that are perfect for chilly fall weather, and I'm loving these Target handbags and necklaces, too.

Next, Clothes. There are some pretty great fall styles this season. I love the fit of Target jeggings, and every year I buy multiple sweaters from Target. All of these items look super comfy and cute.
1. Tan sweater/ cardigan
2. Off the shoulder top in navy

On to Shoes - I can't resist a good pair of leopard print flats. And I love the zipper details on these boots.

Finally, my favorite - Decor. How cute are these animal statues? You know I love some good animal figurines. And textured blankets and pillows are kind of my favorite, too.
1. "Gather" decorative pillow
2. Gold giraffe figure
3. Sweater knit throw in silver
4. Metal fox sculpture
5. White berry wreath
6. Macrame throw pillow
7. Gold and marble tray
8. Velvet square throw pillow

Well, that was fun! What Target items are you loving right now?

Rug Shopping

While shopping at Target the other night, I couldn't help but notice all of the lovely patterned rugs on display. I have to stroll through the Target decor aisles every time I'm there, petting all of the pretty pillows and rugs, and admiring all of the stylish new furniture each season. I know I'm not the only one, right?

I'm currently obsessed with all the styles of rugs out this fall and have been thinking of getting a new one for the living room lately. It's not exactly the easiest decision though, when you're faced with this many wonderful options.

The rug we have now has served us well and looked pretty stylish for the last couple of years. But these days it's not looking so hot. With a dog who likes to scratch up against it and lick her fur all of the time, on the rug no less, it needs cleaned quite a lot... Not to mention, it's wool and it's not holding up so well. So a new one is looking better and better. Maybe not right away, but sooner or later.

I haven't decided on one I like yet and think I might wait a little longer. But some of the more neutral patterns have been catching my eye. I like that the material looks a little easier to clean than wool, and most are still low pile. The dark gray ones might hide dog hair pretty well, too.

The really patterned ones are pretty awesome, but I'm just worried they might be harder to match. So I'm thinking another neutral one might be the way we'll go when we do get a new one.

When we first moved in and got the living room decorated, I had the plainest rug you could possibly have. A cream-colored rug. No pattern or style at all. I think the one in the picture below is actually the second cream-colored rug we had. I figured it went with everything, and would look nice and bright. No dark, dingy rug or loud pattern. Well, it got dirty easily and was a little on the boring side!

Spring 2013 rolled around and I was ready for a change. I bought this new rug from Rugs USA. I loved it when I first got it. It brought so much more style and interest to the living room. It was a neutral color still (dark gray), and it was a nice material (wool), so I figured it would last a long time.

Now though, I'm realizing wool probably isn't the greatest material, since it doesn't hold up really well, and isn't super soft, either. It's also been over two years now, and it's gotten faded and hard to keep clean with Saleen around.

So, I have some ideas in mind, and we're also looking at getting a sectional sofa. We actually started looking a year ago, but then took a break to work on wedding stuff and now will probably start looking again. When we do decide to get a new rug though, I think one of these from Tar-jay will look awesome in the living room. We'll see which one I do end up with when the time comes!

Coffee and The Usual Target Decor Trip

Never get a Keurig. You will be addicted. A cup in the morning is one thing, but when you're drinking coffee in the middle of the afternoon, that's when you just feel old.

In other news, I went to Target last week and spent way too much money, as usual. I bought a few new fall clothing items, some accessories, and some gifts for upcoming birthdays and weddings. I couldn't go to Tar-jay though, without a little stroll through the decor aisles. This time I just took pictures of a couple of tables that I thought were pretty awesome.

Target decor never seizes to amaze me. Shiny gold and brass side tables. And on sale, too?

And check out this bar cart. Super fancy! Wouldn't it be awesome for parties? Ok, that's enough for today. Until next time, Target.

Target..For All of Your Animal Decor Needs

I'm seriously obsessed with all the new spring decor at Target right now! We shopped for a little bit on Saturday, and it had been a while since I've checked out all the decor at my favorite all-stop shop. I was pleasantly surprised to see some amazing and stylish items, and lots of animal decor goodness! Let's take a brief little tour, shall we?

I was especially smitten with this gold turtle box. That's right, the top (shell) opens up and inside is a little catch-all. So adorable! If I knew what I would do with it, I'd have no problem "shelling" out $15 for it. I guess I'll have to think about it a little longer....

Maybe I was just attracted to all the hot pink items. With pink being my favorite color, there was definitely plenty of it to go around.

I was also obsessed with all the GOLD! The gold trays were especially awesome, though I do already have a similar one from World Market.

I don't know what I'd do with these bright yellow ceramic lemons, but they sure are cute.

And then there were these...ceramic octopus tentacles. Enough said.

And - my favorite - peonies! Bright, beautiful orange ones. I need a place for these, now.

There were also so many cute jewelry holders. Like these animal-themed ring trays..how cute is that mouse? Too bad I already have a giraffe one! (Also from World Market...sensing a theme here!)

This jewelry rack was so unique though! I don't think I've seen anything like it.

One thing I'm loving about all of the Target decor this season is just how bright and colorful everything is. I always like to decorate with neutral staples, then bring in pops of color in the accessories, and Target has the prettiest colorful accessories right now! Even the candle holders are adorable. And, look, more animal themes!

If I needed a cheeky but glamorous tape dispenser, this would totally be perfection...

I was literally dying with all of the gold eye candy going on... And that gold trinket box. Swoon.

I'll leave you with some glorious Easter bunny goodness. I Instagrammed this pic over the weekend. It made me die and go to bunny decor heaven. Seriously - look at those little bunny Place card holders!

Underneath those were these candy dishes...wish I had a place for all these lovely items!

I didn't go home with anything, but there's a chance I may come back for something...something gold.. in other words, I think a gold trinket box is definitely in order for the coffee table! Don't you think?

Newest Target Finds

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! I thought I would pop in again on this AMAZING, SUNNY Saturday to share two of my newest Target finds. It is a store I frequent, you know. I will go there not really needing anything, but leave as if I had needed way too much. These two items were necessities, though. :)

Here are my favorite items I picked up this week:

We all know my love for the Petersiks, so it was no surprise I picked up one of their hooks! Especially since I blogged about getting one as soon as I heard they were releasing their own line of them at Target. I decided to go with the bee one, 'cause it's just so darn cute. I can't wait to hang it. I'm thinking the living room needs a hook, but I have no idea what I would hang there....hmm...I will keep you posted!

And I couldn't resist picking up a couple of these jars below, which were from the dollar spot and were only a buck each. I think they'll make perfect little vacation jars after we come back from Texas this year.

Can't you just see them filled with sand from the beach? Kind of like my Lake Geneva jar, or our East Coast vacation jar of yester-year. All this talk about vacations makes me excited for our Texas trip this year... Is it May yet?
