I worked all day, but afterward it was time to get ready and let the celebrating begin. We started the night eating at Buffalo Wild Wings with Trent's brother Shane and his wife, Jennifer. It was nice to get out with them, since it seems like for living so close, we don't get to see them too much! After dinner we exchanged our Christmas presents with them, and stopped by our friends Derek and Lori's to watch a bit of New Year's Rockin' Eve.
Then it was off to Mark and Sandy's for our annual New Year's family get together. We've hung out with Trent's family the last few New Year's Eves. It's always really low key, just spending time together, having a few drinks, eating some chips and Trent's chili cheese dip and other muchies.
We jammed out to some old music and had a few laughs. When midnight rolled around, the adults all poured the champagne and toasted to another year. It's a wonder I stayed awake as long as I did after getting up early for work that day!
We ended up staying there until after 2:00, even though the "party" was dwindling down as we got more and more tired! Overall I would say it was a successful night.
Today, the first day of the new year, we're at home having a lazy day and watching movies. Maybe tomorrow I'll take the Christmas tree down... :)
